‘La forma del agua’ aspira a siete galardones, incluidos los de mejor película y guion.

El mexicano Guillermo del Toro (nominado al Óscar por 'El laberinto del fauno') compite como mejor director por su película 'La forma del agua', que también es candidata al Globo como mejor cinta. Aquí se medirá con 'Dunkirk', 'Call Me By Your Name', 'The Post' y 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri'.
La película chilena 'Una mujer fantástica', del director Sebastián Lelio, se enfrentará en el apartado de mejor filme en lengua extranjera con 'First They Killed My Father' (Camboya), 'In the Fade' (Alemania), 'Loveless' (Rusia), y 'The Square' (Francia, Suecia, Alemania y Dinamarca).
Por el lado de las categorías de actuación se destacan las postulaciones de Gary Oldman como Winston Churchill, en 'Las horas más oscuras', Tom Hanks, por su papel en 'The Post', y Christopher Plummer (que reemplazó en sus escenas a Kevin Spacey) en 'All the Money in the World'.
En la categoría de mejor película animada figuran, entre otras,  'Loving Vincent' y 'Coco', esta última también aspirante a un galardón por canción original ('Remember me').
En televisión,  la gran protagonista será la miniserie 'Big Little Lies', que cuenta con seis postulaciones en la edición  75 edición de los Globos de Oro. Dos de ellas son como mejor actriz principal, para sus protagonistas Nicole Kidman y Reese Witherspoon.
También se destacan las candidaturas de 'The Crown', 'Game of Thrones', 'The Handmade's Tale', 'Stranger Things 2' y 'This is Us', como mejor serie de drama.
La edición 75 de los premios que concede la Asociación de Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood dará a conocer sus ganadores el próximo domingo 7 de enero, en el hotel Beverly Hilton de Los Ángeles, durante una gala que presentará Seth Meyers.
